A good friend last night was given the advice:
"God is the perfect parent and all his kids mess up from time to time."
Takes the pressure off from trying to be that perfect mom. Not that I have ever tried to be perfect, my kids are lucky to get fed dinner much less have the nutritious snack waiting for them when they walk in the door. I am not big on cleaning, clothes are not ironed and folded in drawers and I am definitely not crafty or creative. But I do pride myself on trying to always be present in their lives, and teaching them right from wrong. I have learned they will do the very activity I said they would never do, so I am prepared for complete failure on a few fronts. A woman a few years ago told me
" You don't pray that your kids won't make mistakes, you pray that the bad decisions they make will not affect their lives forever."
Being a parent is a 24/7 job and it is hard..just ask God
Disclaimer: As far as I know my kids currently have not "messed up" in the last 48 hours, so this is no reflection on their current behavior or mine;)
