Sierra is finshed with her first year of preschool.

On my walk today along the river I saw a mallard duck family, six blue herons and a black snake. Plus an old teacher friend I hadn't seen in years.

Donavan is one of the best freethrow shooters on the team.

They beat this team 57-7

Donavan's team rocked this weekend.  Played four games and won by over 30 points in all games, and won the tournament.  Donavan got a lot a playing time and is improving so much.

Donavan had his band concert.  The next day they went to King's Dominion and played in a statewide competition and received all superior scores.

Though this was a extremely neat mooseum, it seemed sad to me that family Dairy Farms are becoming rare and one would need to make a museum.

I got lots of pretty flowers for Mother's Day.  The best line of the day was from Donavan. I said " These roses are so pretty." D said " Daddy got them from a real florist, not the grocery store." My status is moving up in the world.

12 year old boys

    Last night Donavan's basketball team had a long team huddle...Donavan had a the funniest looks on his face as the coach was talking to them.  The coach was talking quietly and then started getting louder with the
" You don't hang with stupid people or idiots EVER..you will not go anywhere in life being a follower."

 Donavan refused to discuss what was going on until we got in the safety of the van. One of the boys on the team had gotten suspended from school for a couple of days for selling condoms in school. The coach was calm in his talking until the kid said his friends made him do it..  Then Donavan said Coach got HOT!  I think the shock of it caused me to die out laughing. While I was trying to comprehend the story Donavan was trying to make sense out of it too....these were some gems out of his mouth

   I guess he was selling them to 8th graders bc what would a 6th grader do with a it.


   You can get them in the gas stations bathrooms for 2 for a dollar..why would you buy one from a kid at school

Either way that is a waste of a dollar for a 6th grader.

I really hate we already had to discuss this subject, but I am glad Donavan's innocence and sense of humor made it much easier for all of us.

Beach time

We had 3 hours to kill between basketball games, so off to the beach we went.  It was 58 degrees and windy.  Sierra still does not like the sound of the ocean but she does love all the sand.

Donavan's team played this weekend.  They are so much fun to watch, hard to believe 12 year olds playing basketball can be so intense.  Donavan scored in the first game:)  The team won the two games but lost the last game in a close battle.

Rain

Sierra loves the rain.  She got dressed and was outside playing in her puddles by 7:15.  I hope she will always enjoy the rain with such joy!

The preschool has a tricycle day to raise money for the school

Sam is Sierra's "boyfriend".  He is a cutie and they played nonstop together.

Sierra found all the chocolate and left it on her face.
