Could it be true?

AS of 2/29/08, the Beaver Family has NOTHING on their calendar for the weekend! YIPPEEE. I am so excited, Colleen has already planned quality time with her best buddy Rachel. I am sure the boys will be asking for friend time as soon as they realize they have an empty slate.
My computer has been acting up the last week, so my postings are almost nonexistent b/c I don't have the time to wait for it to boot up.
Last weekend Colleen did a great job swimming. After a slow start on Friday she took time off her next 6 events. She gets to go to states in the 50 breast, 50 fly ,and 100 breast. She will also be on four relay teams.

I have subbed 3 days this week. I am hiding my phone today so no one can call me. I have to make a trip to AAA today. We have a couple of trips that need some planing. This summer we are going to Montana. We are thinking about flying into Denver doing a tour of the Grand tetons and the Rocky MTN park.

I am so Weird!

According to my daughter Ray and I are WEIRD! Just b/c we try to make her smile. This weekend is the district swim meet. Yesterday Colleen did make her cut in the 100 breast, but came up short in the 50 fly and 100 IM. This morning we are trying to liven her up. She is bit down b/c her bball team is playing in the semi-finals today without her. Her game was canceled yesterday due to the ice storm and rescheduled. She had to make a tough decision on whether to swim or play bball.
Conlan also has basketball and swimming today. Lucky for him his game is early and he is only swimming one event, so he can do both!
I subbed on WEdnesday and Thursday. The kids aren't sure they like the mom that has been at work all day. MY patience is shot by the time I get home, so I am not my "happy get your self together for the night activities mom", more like the HURRY UP WE ARE RUNNING LATE..CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING FOR YOURSELF!" Next week I am subbing for a LD teacher for a couple of days that job isn't so bad b/c I am working with regular classroom teachers and I am not having to do the discipline. The worst part of subbing is maintaing control of the class and not getting to go to the bathroom but once a day.

The quiet life

The Garrison family invited us to their home on the Rappahannock River. We had a wonderful time. Lee and Tina are great people and their house was lovely. The kids had fun on the Wii and playing hide and seek ( it was a bit rainy). The view of the river was beautiful and it was so quiet and peaceful. I know why they love it. Donavan is already planning his summer fun with the boat and jet ski. We greatly appreciated their hospitality.

CICI is HOME!!!

After a week of tears Cici is back home. Apparently she had gotten picked up and taken to the pound on Sunday. I had called on Monday and gave all my info. Ray said it was on the main board when he went to retrieve her. Ray had called again this afternoon and they said they had a black lab he oculd come look. Ray said it wasn't Cici, but when he was walking thru the pens he saw Cici in a pen in the corner. We are all very happy. Thankful for all the prayers that were answered.

SUPER DUPER BOY CONLAN

Conlan has had a great sports weekend. He swam in the mornings and played basketball in the afternoons. Yesterday he dropped time from all four events and then scored 12 points in his b-ball game. Plus his team won their first game. Today he dropped time in 3 out of 4 events and his basketball team won again. He would be on cloud nine if it wasn't for his dog being lost.
Donavan has had a great swim meet. He is going to get ribbons galore for his age group. Tomorrow we will know the exact times and places. He also played two great basketball games.
Colleen won her basketball game and played terrific defense, then she went and swam the 200 breast and took off 12 seconds and was within a second from qualifying for JO's. Today she took 22 seconds off her 500 free, but still is having trouble dropping time in the 100 fly and 100 breast. In two weeks she has the District championships, so it will be her last chance to qualify for more JO cuts.

Missing

Cici escaped from the yard and hasn't been seen since Saturday morning. Unfortunately her name tag had came off, so there is no way for anyone to know she belongs to us. We have canvassed the neighborhoods and called Animal Control. We are praying that someone nice has her and is waiting for Animal Control to open in the morning. Conlan and Ray are taking it the hardest. Poor Conlan cried himself to sleep last night.

Various Things

The slide show below are pics we have taken over the last month. Some basketball pics, pics of Nicolas, trips in the woods, the Nation's Capital, VA Capital and other buildings in Richmond, and Ray and Donavan all cuddled up in their blankets.
I am going back to NJ on Thursday to see Jane and Sarah, not to mention all the Devos family. Ray has been busy painting. He still has a long wasy to go but I am seeing progress.
