These two became inseparable last year in preschool. Their friendship continues to grow. Sierra likes that Sam plays kitchen and baby dolls with her and so there for she will play pirates and sharks with him.

Basketball
Donavan's team played a team of 9th and 10th graders last night and won in double OT. They also won another game. Donavan is improving especially his defensive play.

What a game, I was already dreading the dealing with Conlan on their first lost. His dad on the the other hand kept saying it isn't over until it is over. The last two minutes was so exciting and then OT was even better. It was one of those moments in life that one will always remember. It was what Friday Night Lights is all about!

Farine Farm!
Last day on the farm. It has been a great time. Got to hunt all day yesterday.nice and peaceful. Unfortunately, I missed a nice buck on the farm,in the woods.guess, I will get him next time.

Soccer Girl
Sierra's first soccer experience was a success. She isn't sure she likes it bc she sweats. I was glad to see she is a great listener and she never quit!
She asked why she got a medal, bc she didnt win anything. Thought it was interesting that she knew it was silly for everyone to get a medal just bc they showed up.

Long trip to Colorado !
Albert and I finally made it!!!15 hours later we pulled into downtown Mancos Colorado! I always enjoy the openness and the low traffic volume from Siloam to here. Albert is a tougher man than me. I needed to stop and take a break,and he was roaring to go!! It seemed, I needed to take a break every 2 hours but he did not. Oh well, at least the Durangro brewing is still brewing beer!!

Government Class
The seniors took a test to see if they were liberal or conservative. Colleen proved she is not a good test taker or she has been influenced by her Uncle Louis. Or we have failed as parents...
Senior Night
Senior night was a total success! Ray and I just cried a little bit. Each one of these girls have been best friends with Colleen. They have had great moments and so sad/bad ones but have come thru it stronger.

Last night's game was an easy win. Getting ready for the BIG game on Friday.
Conlan has been doing so well. He has been not only been getting props from the coaches but the seniors are starting to sing his praises. I have loved watching him grow this year and gain so much confidence, but he is still that kid who still isn't comfortable in the group setting. He will stand on the end of the sidelines or be one bleacher up from the crowd at volleyball games. But it never fails he will have a group of guys who gravitate toward him and you see his FARINE side trying to figure out his escape plan.

Homecoming
Both kids had dates..Emma is Conlan 's girlfriend. The lovebug has bitten Conlan hard. Emma is as sweet as she is cute.
Mitch is Colleen's main man. They were just best buddies but over the last few months a romance has developed. I like how their friendship is still going strong.

First time
Conlan had a day of first yesterday. He shaved for the first time, with his dad's help. It looks so nice to have his straggly hairs removed from his neck and chin. He is worried, it might not ever grow back.
Conlan also had a girl over for dinner. Colleen had broke us in, but I have to admit it was different having a "girlfriend" at the table. Emma plays volleyball with Colleen, so she does have some knowledge of us, so I don't think she was too traumatized. The love bug has bitten Conlan hard. We tease him about being soft and yesterday Sierra said.

Colleen this week was in her FIRST car accident. Her friend Rachel and her were going to school and got caught up in a chain reaction accident, thankfully no one was hurt and Colleen wasn't driving. Colleen also drove to Annapolis by herself this weekend. Colleen said " I know I am almost 18 but sometimes I still want to be 12" Sometimes I just want her to be 12, and not have to worry about letting her go.
Donavan played in his FIRST middle school game. He was one of two 7th graders that started and he got a lot of playing time. They lost in the last minutes of the game, but he did a great job!
Sierra went to the dentist for the FIRST time and according to her it will be her LAST...shades of her grandpa.
