Basketball

Donavan's team finished 2nd overall this weekend.  Donavan got a lot more playing time this weekend.  He has improved so much in his defense.  It has been great to see his improvement and how the coaches are so encouraging with him.

Last weekend of volleyball

Colleen's team finished with getting second overall.  There were are few tears, especially Colleen and Jasmine.  All the seniors will be playing college ball, so we are looking forward to seeing even more volleyball.

Sierra by Lily

Sierra has been styling this week.  Though we have not let her wear her wedges outside the house.  Sierra has tried  pouting, crying, and bargaining but we haven't given in (yet)

Band concert

I have never wanted to be a band mom.  But this 7th and 8th grade band, makes me so glad I am one.  They are amazing...they have received superior ratings at their competitions,  Last nights performance was totally entertaining.  Conlan even complimented Donavan on how well they performed. Donavan started with the trombone and now he is playing the baritone.

24 hours of beauty

And no electronics...we had a great time camping on skyline drive.  It was great to get away from all the madness.
One memory that was so unexpected was Conlan having a long conversation with this elderly man from India.  At first we were laughing bc Conlan was mainly saying Yes sir and Wow... But after a while Conlan was discussing the rivers and mountain ranges of India and then they had a discussion about God..Hinduism and Heaven.  All while watching the sunset over the mountain.

Selfies

The kids love taking pics of themselves...except for Conlan;)

Waterfall

We hiked over 6 miles to see this waterfall.  Due to all the rain the last couple of weeks we got to see it in full beauty.

Bears

The bears were out this weekend.  The boys saw one along the parkway.  I literally almost walked into one.  She was about to cross the trail when I walked upon her.  One is too close when you can actually see the nostrils flaring from the snorting.  Needless to say I backed up quickly.

Hiking is so easy

Sierra always manages to catch a ride.

Camping

All State

Colleen found out she made all state this weekend.  Great finish to her high school volleyball career!

Going shopping

The boys decided they would go to the grocery store with me since it was Mother's Day.  I would like to believe they wanted mommy time, but I am afraid they were just making sure I got the right kind of food.  Funny how many comments we got from people...a little bit of a show having those two in tow.

Mother's Day

Donavan was killing it with his cooking skills.  A veggie omelet for breakfast, then steak and asparagus for dinner.  Conlan helped with the cleaning of the kitchen, and Colleen went on a 4 mile walk with me.  Sierra was full of hugs and kisses and a wee bit of attitude.

Rascal

Rascal has been in a loving mood lately.

ACC today SEC tomorrow

That is what Conlan said yesterday after he met with the offensive coordinator for UVA.  Today he met with a coach from Kentucky.  The boy is on a roll!    Conlan is benefiting from one of his teammates being heavily recruited by these colleges.  Since he is only a  sophomore the coaches can only talk to him for a minute or two. But he is getting good feedback and it is doing a world of good for his self  confidence:).
He just has to work off his butt for another couple of years and not get hurt.....

Pictures: Flooding Rappahannock roars through Fredericksburg

Three days of rain caused majored flooding.  The girls and I went and checked out the river yesterday. It was just incredible.  The river parks were completely flooded you could only see the top of the playground equipment.  Colleen took some really good pictures too that I will have to post.
