ONE DAY DOWN TWO MORE TO GO!

Conlan and Colleen swam great yesterday. Conlan took time off everything, swam the 200 free like he enjoys it:) Colleen finally took time off her 50 FLY to qualify for states. She missed her cut in the 200 Free by .04. Bummer but she took off 3.5 seconds and you can't complain about taking time off.

Super Swimmer Conlan

Today Conlan showed that he is a real swimmer. He started out getting 3rd in the 50fly and getting a BB time which qualifies him for regions next weekend. He then swam the 200 IM and got first and got the BB time. He was so hyped that he worked for first in his 100 breast. Then his relay got first. What a day. He deserved it with all his hard work. Next weekend he is swimming 8 or 9 events in the Region championships.

Donavan is still running a fever, but has kept down some juice and a couple of crackers. He is mostly sleeping, and hasn't moved off the couch since 6am this morning.

Basketball games, swimming, and vomiting

What a day! Conlan's b-ball team won today. I got to see about 20 minutes. He was playing much better. The grandparents said he did well the whole game. Donavan bounced back from feeling sick to play in his game. They also won. They finished the season 4-2. We are hoping the boys can stay together for years to come. Colleen swam the 200 fly for the first time today. She did a terrific job. I think she got 2nd, and she was just a few seconds off from qualifying for states. The coach was impressed and she will get to swim it again next weekend in the Region Championships.
Donavan went from sick last night to feeling better this morning to a full free fall this afternoon. After his game he didn't have a fever and felt pretty good. Within 30 minutes he had spiked a fever and was feeling awful. When we got home I gave him his Tylenol and he threw it up. I went and got him a the syrup kind and ginger ale, which also came up. Poor Guy..thankfully he is currently sleeping.

Donavan the Basketball Star!

Donavan's team won 13-12. Donavan scored 12 points! He scored the winning basket with about 20 seconds left. It was a very exciting game. They were down 10-4 during the third quarter. Donavan was on fire, he played well on defense too!

Conlan scored a basket today also.

Funny Stuff

This is a couple of excerpts of e-mails I have gotten today. I have gotten a big kick over how stupid people can be.....I have change the names just in case someone knows someone who might know someone

During dance lessons, our son Joe Bob was pulled from class by the instructor, Mr. Dance teacher. Without any explanation, Joe Bob was directed to exit the rear of the building. Mr. Dance instructed Joe Bob to "walk to the end of the sidewalk and back." Joe bob, confused as to what was happening to him, proceeded down the sidewalk as instructed. At this moment, Mr. Dance turned his back on Joe Bob and re-entered the building alone. Mr. Dance closed and deadbolted the steel door from the inside, locking Joe Bob out of the building completely. There are no windows on this door for Joe Bob to be able to peer inside. Joe Bob was left completely unattended and alone. The rear of the building is completely unsecure. Mr. Dance returned to his class and said, "Let's carry on." Joe Bob was stranded in the back alley for a few minutes before Mr. Dance allowed him back inside.
Mr. Dance obviously had no problem allowing the entire class to witness this very dangerous form of discipline.

The following is a reply another parent sent

If you insist upon lifting a carbon copy of what most parents considered a privileged email list for your own private use, then I suppose you are game for the public return of opinion.
While no parent wishes for any child to be exiled to sub-zero temperatures for arbitrary and cruel punishment, please understand, likewise, that no parent wishes for their money and time to be wasted by a child who insists upon distracting and disrespecting his instructors or fellow students.

Stupid grown-ups are stupid grown-ups, bored children are bored children---and apparently, self-centered parents wishing to garner the sympathies of virtual strangers with one-sided hearsay using a pirated email list are equally annoying.

Good News for Everyone

Yesterday, I had a doctor's appt. Everything was fine and we got to hear the baby's heatbeat.

Colleen made the volleyball team and got straight A's for the nine weeks.

Conlan doesn't qualify for speech anymore!!!!! He will be completely finished in March. His report was card had a pesky C in History, but did make honor roll for the semester. Most importantly his teacher's comment constantly on how he always does his best and never stops paying attention.

Donavan also had a super report card. He is a Beaver/Farine and needs to work on his handwriting.
