Swimmer Girl

Colleen came into the regional meet seeded 17th with a time of 1.13.53. She swam her heart out and finished with a time of 1.10.32 and 11th place. Not too bad for a girl who hasn't swam year around for 2 years and is a self declared " My mom makes me do this."

Killing time

We had three hours to kill between Colleen's swimming events. We went to the Manasass Battlefield to let Sierra run out some energy. Gram also got to stretch her legs. It would have been more enjoyable if the wind wasn't blowing making it feel so much colder.

Community Service

Conlan has spent the last 5 out of 6 Saturdays helping seconds graders play basketball. I have to give the boy some props for getting up before 8 and working until 1. There were a couple of weekends that I had to do some bribing to get him up and moving. Apparently 7 year olds don't listen and like to do their own thing..sounds like 13 year olds to me. I am proud Conlan accomplished the task and who knows he might volunteer to do it next year. Oh wait he didn't volunteer his mom and coach told him he was doing it.

Swimming to Regionals

  Colleen qualified in her breaststroke and her 200 medley relay team. Four out of the eight girls going in breast stroke have Jr. National times and one of them is going to the Olympic trials this summer, so she is swimming in good company.
    Colleen has a love/hate relationship with swimming, but she does love it being an individual sport and taking all the glory for herself.
