Neat Picture

Some one took this pic from the newspaper.  The PAT was blocked but Conlan got a pentalty for touching the center.  Which gave Courtalnd the ball back and half the distance to the goal, but we held them.  The film shows Conlan didn't touch the guy. I do believe this photo is poster material.

Colleen's first game was a success too.  She got to see plenty of playing time and had the most blocks for the team.

Ponax killed it!  Courtland was being hyped as one of the best teams in the area and Ponax was being called the team that had to rebuild/reload after it lost 24 seniors. Ponax showed it was fully reloaded.  Conlan did great, playing both ways.  He said "I was sitting out so I could rest and then I heard the crowd yelling my name.  It got my blood rushing and back on the field I went"  So happy for all these boys.

Praying Mantis

Sierra is in the hunt for these little creatures every day.  She has even gotten the boys involved.  She told us she knew about them from the show Wild Kratts.  Donavan today was giving random facts and I said how do you know this.  I watched Wild Kratts with Sierra.

Funny Girl

We asked Sierra If she wanted to ride the bus or for us to take her to school. She replied

  I am riding the bus I do not want to be seen in a car seat when I go to kindergarten.

The life guards at the pool told me Sierra had told them Conlan cried when he said bye to Colleen

  I asked Sierra if she said that she gave her evil smile and said

Sierra asked her papa for some cherries and he asked her to repeat her self a couple of times then she asked

Short Visit

Colleen had a couple of hours free so we took her out to lunch.  It was great hearing all her stories.  Sierra stayed hooked to her the whole time, and was upset when we told her she couldn't live at college with Colleen.  Volleyball is wearing her out, and she is ready for school to start....or should I say her social life;)

The first week

Colleen has been eating, sleeping and living volleyball.  Her coach has tried to mix it up.  One night they took a two hour spinning class, and took a "hike" along the James River.  She also got her first ice bath!  One more week of intense volleyball then she gets to add the academic part!  Though she would say the social part is coming.

Scrimmage

Conlan got a great taste of what life is like on both sides of the ball.  And it kicked his butt!  The first string showed their stuff the first half 34-6 and then they got benched the rest of the game.  It looked like it might be a rebuilding year but these boys are going to show us some great ball this fall.

Move iN Day

Everyone should have the move in experience we had.  Colleen moved in two weeks early so there was no crowds of people.  Her room backs up to the parking lot so we just moved her stuff thru the window..  She had a volleyball meeting so there was no drawn out goodbyes.  She will be eating sleeping and volleyballing it for the next two weeks!  Sept 1 is her first daybof classes.

Sierra got to sleep with Colleen on her last night home!  I don't think Colleen meant for Sierra to be plastered to her backside when she agreed to this.  LOL. Moments like this are going to be missed!
