Report Card Day

All three kids made the honor roll!!!!!!! Donavan came thru with straight A's, Colleen got all A's except Spanish and Conlan had two B's. They are doing great so far. One semester down one more to go

Our county has proposed cutting middle school and freshman sports in an effort to balance the school budget. Colleen spoke in front of the school board tonight about the importance of playing sports. She did a great job. It was wonderful to see her and a few of her friends trying to make a difference.

Conlan and Donavan's teams still are struggling, but the boys are playing hard defense and making baskets. They both take after their mother, they rebound but can't seem to make that under the basket shot.

Basketball, basketball and swimming

What a day. Started off the morning thinking both boys had games at 9 am. and at two different places. I got Conlan dropped off and got Donavan to his game a couple minutes late. Donavan was very worried but stayed calm which I greatly appreciated. He played well scored a basket from three point land. The team lost but you can see improvement with some of the boys. I went to pick up Conlan to be told his game was at 11 not 9. Thank goodness Conlan is responsible and independent, and sat and watched the two games before his game. Conlan started out playing well and then got three quick fouls(first quarter) and that put him on the bench for a while. They lost their game also.
Colleen swam this morning at the University of MD she also had a hard day, but she has been out of the water since Christmas so it was not a big surprise.

Tomorrow we go back to UMD.......

Hyperboling

Conlan just told Colleen "Stop with the hyperbole!" He used it in the right context and even pronounced it correctly. I feel so proud.

Conlan's first basketball game

Conlan is playing basketball on a YMCA league. They had their first game today. They lost, but Conlan played well. He scored and played great defense. Their team is large so playing time is limited, but Conlan loves his coaches and I feel it will be a good season for him. Donavan's first game is Thursday night. Bleachers will be a way of life for the next couple of months.
