Why I love my family

Yesterday Conlan was having a it is HARD being a 14 year boy day.  Colleen came home from school and said he was upset and mad.  When we got to his basketball game, you could tell he was having stomach cramps and didn't look well.  After the game (which he played well in) he told me that a kid tried to fight him at school and he wanted to punch him but knew he had to much to lose so he walked off.  He discussed how mad he was and how one of his teachers talked to him during lunch.  When Ray got home from Colleen's swim meet he talked to him.  I told Conlan how lucky he was that he had two parents to talk to and listen to him.  When Colleen and Ian came home, Ian talked to him for awhile.  Ian got the real scoop.  GIRL TROUBLES! Colleen swooped in and did the sister/brother talk.  Donavan even did his part as being the little brother giggling quietly in his bed as he got to witness the drama.
Even though a mom never wants to see their kids upset or hurt, it is a good feeling that you have a family unit that works.  When the media/society says you don't need a dad or a house full of siblings, I know in my heart you need the whole package with a lot of faith in God.
